24 Hour Events at Disney

Well, they announced it! Disneyland and Magic Kingdom at Disney World are having 24 hour celebrations starting May 22 2015.

See here for more on Disneyland info and here for Disney World info.

The parks will open at 6:00 am on the 22nd and continue on as one day until 6:00 am on the 23rd. The parks will close and later reopen at their scheduled time on the 23rd. Admission is just a regular pass, no extra hard tickets required.

I'm a bit upset as I had grand plans to visit Disneyland for this but I was expecting it to be announced mid-Feb and when it wasn't I had assumed that it wouldn't happen due to the 60th anniversary. I had taken the emotional hit and decided (read: forced myself to see) it was good there wasn't going to be a 24 hour event because I would likely have to use that money to pay my taxes. Now I'm going to miss this event again.

Well, I guess I'm saving up my Air Miles to visit next year... I'm guessing this is going to become a regular event as it's on year three (four?). Maybe I should just book the vacation without waiting for the announcement and if it happens it's a happy coincidence?

For those, like me, unable to attend they'll likely have a live feed of main street to watch the people and parades. I'll try to keep you updated as they announce more news.

This event might be a good time to use my Disneyland Ride List! Use it to keep track of what rides you've gone on and how many times! Think you can ride Splash Mountain every hour?
